42 Acres Retreat Centre
Seven hundred acres of ancient forest encircle the main house, originally built as a dairy farm in the 1800s. Through the centuries, 42 acres has evolved into a retreat space.
There are 11 bedrooms rooms in total, 8 in the main house and 3 in the deer cottages.

Central to so much of what we do is our deep appreciation for high quality, sustainably sourced, organic food. 42 ACRES Somerset also acts as a working farm where fruit and vegetables are grown on the land using varying methods of farming techniques that help regenerate the soil and give back the nutrients to the land. Whether applying biodynamic, permaculture or non-plough techniques we find the best methods to suit our local landscape and bring retreat guests delicious, locally sourced food.
We work closely with the land and its natural resources with all our power being generated by bio-mass and solar. Our solar panel serves not just the retreat but in times of excess energy we provide power for local homes.
Our interiors are made from reclaimed materials produced locally by learned craftsman. Our organic soaps and shampoos are hand made by Somerset based Victoria Ogilvy using only pure essential oils, natural ingredients and infusions. In the kitchen, we make every effort to reduce food waste and avoid single-use plastic.
Bedroom Options
Main House
Elegant and comfortable accommodation for up to 24 people – 8 bedrooms: 1 super-king (with sofa bed), 1 king, 1 double, 3 twins, 1 luxe dorm (with 3 futon beds).
Please be aware we currently have no WIFI on site.
Deer Cottages
Beautiful individual cottages, consisting of 3 en-suite bedrooms, 1 double and 2 twins (one with kitchenette and sofa bed).
