About Lara Darby

I am a really passionate about yoga and what it can do for YOU. My goal is to introduce you to all the wonderful aspects that yoga brings to your life, once you start to listen to your body, move more, eat well and enjoy a stronger sense of self. The ancient tradition of yoga is so powerful in helping you to transform your inner and outer body to feeling really great, every day.

I bring a modern functional movement style based on traditional yoga, so that you reap all the benefits of this ancient tradition and practise in a safe and grounded way.

I am a highly experienced, qualified and professionally trained Yoga teacher who has experience of many yoga styles including Hatha, Ashtanga, Yin and Vinyasa yoga with World renowned teachers. This has formed my modern, fluid Vinyasa style of powerful and yet deeply nurturing yoga. Combine this with a healthy, nutritious diet and meditation and you have a dynamic combination to ENERGISE YOUR LIFE.

I HAVE BEEN TEACHING YOGA FOR 12 YEARS AND PRACTICING FOR MUCH LONGER!

I am a fully qualified 500 hr Training with British Wheel of Yoga, Sadie Nardini’s Core-Strength Vinyasa Yoga 300hr TT, Shiva Rea x 2 50hrs, BWY Pregnancy Yoga & Yoga Alliance Children’s Yoga Certified. How did it all start?

I am finally achieving my dream of teaching yoga to those who need it most and I look forward to sharing it with YOU.
— LARA

My yoga experience started whilst I was living in London and suffering from a bad back. Once I started attending a Sunday class I was totally hooked! It was a non-competitive, dynamic, powerful and yet restful activity that left me feeling vibrant and alive. I have travelled around the World learning yoga and soaking up as much information as possible.

After a period of extreme work stress, anxiety and illness in my mid-twenties, I developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and for several years was unable to live a “normal” life. I know what it feels like to be utterly exhausted, drained, unable to do the most simple tasks. Yoga for me was the constant through this time and helped me to rebuild my body and regain control of my life. Healthy eating, a low sugar diet & gentle yoga restored my body and mind to a place of balance.

I am now a busy, active, sporty wife & mum of three young boys and really value my yoga practice to keep me strong, calm and grounded. I love to swim, ski, cycle, run – anything that involves moving my body to build strength and agility. However, my Yoga practice is always there for whenever my body needs to open, to replenish, to move, to release, to restore.

I quit my corporate life in order to pursue my goal of teaching yoga to people in order to help them live a calmerhealthier, more balanced life. Let me help you to find that balance and make that change. We have a lot of fun in class and you will meet a wonderful community of like-minded people.

I also teach Pregnancy Yoga, which I adore, to help Mums-to-be have a successful pregnancy and labour. I have recently qualified with the Yoga Alliance to teach Childrens' Yoga in local schools, introducing children to the concepts of movement, mindfulness and fun in sport.
